# Reporting sections

> Read and manage reporting sections of the Fyvel reporting structure.

# Reporting sections

Reporting sections are the sections of the reporting structure in Fyvel. They are defined organisation-wide and are the basis for account assignment, categories, and reports.

## Available tools

* `list_reporting_sections`
* `bulk_create_reporting_sections` (one or many sections per call)
* `change_reporting_section`
* `change_reporting_section_order`
* `delete_reporting_section`

## Typical use cases

* read existing P\&L or balance-sheet sections
* create new reporting sections
* change the order
* change names or properties of existing sections
* delete sections you no longer need

## Scope

Reporting sections are **organisation-wide**. You do not need a `companyUuid`.

## Important notes

* `list_reporting_sections` can filter by `accountType`
* `profit_loss` is the **P\&L** in the app
* `balance_sheet` is the **balance sheet** in the app

## Where reporting sections are used

Reporting sections are needed, among other things, for:

* `list_accounts` with a reporting-section filter
* `bulk_create_categories` or `change_category`
* report logic that is based on the reporting structure
