# Accounts

> Read and manage the accounts of a company through the Fyvel MCP server.

# Accounts

The account tools work with the chart of accounts of a single company. You can read accounts, create new accounts, or update existing accounts.

## Available tools

* `list_accounts`
* `create_account`
* `update_account`

## Scope

Accounts are **company-specific**. You need a `companyUuid`, which you load beforehand with [`list_companies`](/en/mcp/companies).

## What `list_accounts` can do

`list_accounts` returns the chart of accounts of a company and supports, among other things:

* filter by `accountType`
* filter by `reportingSectionUuid`
* complete lists without further filters

## Typical use cases

* load the chart of accounts for a company
* create new accounts for manual or supplementary flows
* update account name, type, or assignment
* look only at P\&L or balance-sheet accounts
* find the account number for [`list_account_transactions`](/en/mcp/account-transactions)

## Important notes

* For an unfiltered full fetch, `companyUuid` is usually enough
* `reportingSectionUuid` should come from [`list_reporting_sections`](/en/mcp/reporting-sections)
* Not every account already has a type or a reporting section
